The Storm Ice Story
๐ฏ WHO WE ARE
Storm Ice is a competitive girls volleyball program committed to developing high-level athletes, strong teammates, and lifelong friendships. With experienced coaches, an incredible team culture, and proven results, Storm Ice is more than a team โ itโs a volleyball family.
Coach Anson Wong
Coach Anson brings over a decade of experience coaching in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and has made a lasting impact at every level heโs coached. He currently serves as the Head Coach of Team Ontario White, helping guide some of the provinceโs top emerging talent. Anson also spent four seasons as the Assistant Coach for the York University Womenโs Volleyball Team, where he had the opportunity to work with world-class athletes, including current Olympians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson. Known for his technical expertise, positive energy, and athlete-first approach, Coach Anson is deeply committed to player development and fostering a strong, connected team culture.
๐ค TEAM & FAMILY BONDING
Storm Ice isnโt just about volleyball โ itโs about building friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
We believe that strong teams are built off the court as much as on it. Thatโs why team bonding is a huge part of who we are. Whether it’s movie nights, axe throwing, escape rooms, charity runs, team dinners, or team-building events, weโre always finding fun ways to grow closer. We’ve even done cottage retreats that turn into unforgettable days full of laughter, games, and team spirit. And yes โ we proudly consume gallons of bubble tea together. From high-energy tournaments to chill hangouts, Storm Ice is more than a team โ itโs a volleyball family.
We Play the Game the Right Way
At Storm Ice, we pride ourselves on playing smart, competitive volleyball through a total team concept. Every player has a role, every touch has purpose, and every point is earned together. Our coaching staff brings a high level of skill, strategy, and energy to every session, with a constant focus on teaching, development, and improvement. We donโt just rely on talent โ we train hard, communicate well, and grow as a unit. The result? Strong fundamentals, smarter plays, and a team-first mentality that leads to success on the court.
We play hard, smart, and with heart โ and our results prove it.
